About Uganda Christian University

Uganda Christian University (UCU) is an authentic Christian institution established by the Church of Uganda in 1997 in response to a call for quality university education with a Christian perspective. Uganda Christian University replaced the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College which trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the HOD and lecturers to ensure the electronics Lab is always ready for teaching electronics and robotics students according to the curriculum.
  • Act as the electronics lab asset manager, maintaining an up-to-date inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain safe custody of practical equipment and supplies while facilitating student access for assignments and research projects.
  • Assist students in the electronics lab by demonstrating proper and safe use of equipment.
  • Assist lecturers with setting up equipment for practical courses before and during lectures.

Qualifications, Competences & Experience

  • First or second-class upper Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science from Uganda Christian University.
  • Graduated not more than five years ago.
  • Computer Science applicants should have studied modules related to electronics, robotics or Artificial Intelligence.
  • Public speaking skills: ability to communicate clearly to individuals and groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal professional skills: ability to cooperate in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Technical skills: Ability to set up and execute practical activities related to the UCU electronics curriculum.
  • Must be a committed and practicing Christian.
